A yarn with antistatic, antibacterial, deodorant and thermo-conservative qualities --resource from Libolon

Oceaya is a sort of yarns developed from the waste of oyster shell by Libolon.

It’s antistatic, antibacterial, deodorant and thermo-conservative.

As there is a large volume of oyster yielded in Taiwan and carry out 160 thousand

tons of “Oyster Shell-Waste” every year, Libolon uses shell-waste to produce

bio-calcium oxide powder. Therefore, it helps reduce shell waste and prevent from

environmental pollution.

Besides, the shell consists of 80% of calcium carbonate and 20% light metal elements.

The powdered shell has a lot of micro-pore on high surface area.

Therefore with bio-calcium oxide all over the surface, it can absorb moisture easily and have free ions to increase conductivity. The powder of shell was oxidized in high temperature. It synthetically, with oxygen, becomes bio-calcium oxide powder and can act as a natural antibacterial and deodorant material in the fiber. the bio-calcium oxide powder helps reserve moisture in the surface, and thus avoid from heat loss.
